We are proud of our continuing effort to minimise rubbish, such as removing single use cups from our aid stations and reducing the plastic packaging of merchandise and medals. Our regular barista, Ang with her Divine Grind Coffee van, is passionate about our environment with delicious organic and sustainably grown coffee. Customers can use one our of unclaimed trophy mugs to reduce the use of take-away coffee cups and put the mugs to good use at the same time. And look for our “safety pin return bucket” so your bib pins can be re-used instead of becoming land fill.
We are continuing our work on ensuring the rubbish we take away is disposed of appropriately by separating recyclables, compost and landfill.
We are very proud to be the first in our industry to become a #SEAChanger by joining the team at Sports Environment Alliance. We hope to learn from other sporting associations as we share and promote ideas and strategies to be better stewards of our environment.
